The Cross on the Hill
The Cross on the Hill (also known as the Cross atop St. Moffley Hill, or the St. Basil's Cross) was erected in 1960 by the St. Mary's Men's Club to commemorate the 1671 meeting commissioned by King Louis XIV of France, which was said to have had over 10,000 voyageurs plus members of dozens of First Nations tribes, where they pledged to live in harmony.
Celebrate and remember the rich history of the Algoma Region by purchasing your very own commemorative Cross on the Hill, part of our Sault Ste. Marie themed custom-building block sets.
